Lasek - PRK

A thin infrared LASER beam is used for correcting corneal curvature resulting in correct focusing of the images on the retina. This is achieved after mechanical removal of the upper cell layer of the cornea (PRK) or after being displaced and then repositioned (LASEK). LASEK and PRK are alternative procedures to LASIK in those cases where cornea is too thin or too flat or for any other reason LASIK is not indicated. lasek-prk
